Dr. Ninad Dileep Mehendale holds a post doctorate degree from KIT Germany and is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Electronics Department at K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering. Dr. Ninad has offered AR-VR Systems, Sound and Music Engineering, 3D Printing Technologies, Advanced DIY electronics, Camera and Optical engineering, and Deep Learning with Autonomous Vehicles at KJSCE. Prior to joining KJSCE, he spent a year as a scientist at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology's Institute of Microstructure Technology. He created a 'Real-Time Microfluidic Bioreactor with NMR Measurement Capabilities' during this time. He also created a machine-learning method for classifying FTIR signals collected during the waste-to-biofuel conversion process. He has spent 6 months as a faculty member at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology and 6 years at D.J. Sanghvi College of Engineering.
Dr. Ninad studied from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay with a Ph.D. in Microfabrication and Image Processing. He used passive microfluidics to create a hand-held cell sorting machine during his Ph.D. research. During the MicroTAS 2017 conference in the United States, his research product RAPID was acknowledged internationally as the only finalist from India to make it into the coveted Houchen portable microfluidics prize. During his M.Tech. at NMIMS University, he won a gold medal. He invented a two-axis tracking system for maximal power transfer during his master's degree, which was groundbreaking at the time. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications as well as a Diploma in Industrial Electronics. He won a Ratan Tata scholarship for being the highest student in MSBTE diploma exams throughout his diploma. Dr. Ninad founded Ninad's Research Lab in Thane, where he served as Chief-Researcher for 11 years. He completed over 1900 projects in a variety of fields, including computer programming and robotics.
Dr. Ninad is currently consulting many industries, such as, STEMI (Europe), Xenium Digital (India), and Lofti Zade Center of Excellence (India). Dr. Mehendale also consults with Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, SBMP, Terna Group of Institutions, and Kohinoor Technical Institute, among others. His current research is in the realm of sound signal processing, for which he has been awarded a Mumbai University Minor Project Grant to design a robotic ear system for an emergency vehicle such as an ambulance, which will use IoT to generate the warning signal. He's also working on a project with IIT Mandi to create Plant disease diagnosis using machine vision and to construct an autonomous sensor-based system for the plant growth chamber. Signal Processing, Machine Vision, Embedded Systems, Microfluidics and Microfabrication, MEMS, NMR and waste bioprocessing, Robotics, Deep learning, and AR-VR technology are some of his primary areas of competence.
Subject Specialization: Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering, Machine learning, Image processing, and computer vision.
